Job description
Role Overview
A leading main contractor located in Cavan is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to handle diverse projects across multiple sectors. This position demands a professional with extensive estimating expertise primarily within the Irish or UK markets, ideally with previous experience in the local Irish construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the tender process from initial receipt through submission and manage any post-tender inquiries.
- Coordinate and manage both internal teams and external tender stakeholders efficiently.
- Issue enquiries to the supply chain, manage the creation of Bills of Quantities, and source material quotations as needed.
- Assess returned quotations and engage with suppliers to ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Prepare and assess risk and opportunity reports related to projects.
- Compile and organize commercial documents for tender presentation meetings.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of supply chain performance.
- Participate in various interview stages including pre-qualification, mid tender, and post tender discussions.
- Visit construction sites to gather important feedback.
- Develop cost plans and feasibility analyses while maintaining communication with clients.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a construction-related degree.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience as an estimator within a main building contractor or a closely related position.
- Prior professional experience working within the Irish construction market is essential.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range between €110,000 and €120,000 depending on experience.
