Job description

Technical Expertise in Plasma Etch Systems

The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of plasma etch systems including RF generators, electrostatic chucks (ESC), and wafer backside gas cooling systems. An understanding of plasma generation theories is essential. Hands-on skills in conducting full wet chamber cleans, replacing and servicing lifter pin motor assemblies, robot and slip valve replacements are required. A strong troubleshooting ability for ultra-low particle count and ICPMS is expected.

Equipment Performance & Reliability

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and reduce downtime effectively.
  • Ensure all machinery operate within safety and operational standards.
  • Manage inventory and tracking of spare parts and critical components.
  • Balance maintenance schedules with manufacturing demands.
  • Provide on-call support for urgent situations as needed.

Process Support & Optimization

  • Ensure stability of production processes through equipment support.
  • Collaborate closely with process engineers to optimize tool setpoints.
  • Use statistical process control (SPC) to monitor equipment performance.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance yield and reduce defects.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

  • Perform root cause analyses (RCA) on equipment and process abnormalities.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA.
  • Implement corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or engage in projects focused on productivity enhancement and cost reduction.
  • Improve metrics like Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Enhance equipment efficiency and pursue automation where possible.

Installation & Qualification

  • Assist in installing new equipment and set-up including SAT/FAT procedures.
  • Conduct equipment qualification and process validation.
  • Work collaboratively with vendors on upgrades or modifications.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and technical specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on equipment performance, downtime, and improvement outcomes.
  • Regularly update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Safety & Sustainability

  • Follow cleanroom protocols and fab safety regulations strictly.
  • Handle systems involving high voltage, vacuum, and hazardous gases safely.
  • Balance equipment sustainability with operational requirements.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Equipment uptime percentage.
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Yield impact from equipment.
  • Preventive maintenance compliance rates.
  • Frequency of Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) triggers.

Soft Skills and Tools

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work efficiently under pressure in high-volume manufacturing settings.
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
