Role Overview

The Senior Engineering Operations Manager will take full ownership of Camunda's Product Development Process (PDP) across both Core and Experience tracks. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining workflows, stages, board hygiene, and defining and tracking epics. The role entails strong alignment between PDP and Product Strategy, ensuring cohesion between strategic initiatives and epic management. The individual will manage and improve PDP automation built on Camunda 8, overseeing source control, testing, test environments, and monitoring to support both tracks effectively.

The incumbent will also apply Camunda's own product internally by building agentic workflows that reflect customer usage, providing valuable insights back to product teams. This fully remote position demands close collaboration with Engineering and Product Strategy teams, blending product, design, and technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end Product Development Process (PDP) including design, stages, boards, and epic tracking.
  • Ensure alignment of PDP with Product Strategy integrating strategy, initiatives, and epics.
  • Maintain and operate PDP automation built on Camunda 8, including source control, testing frameworks, environments, and monitoring tools.
  • Deploy agentic processes internally to run Camunda's products like customers do, feeding learnings back to development teams.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Possess a blended skillset encompassing product, design, and technical engineering capabilities, able to assess and build optimal workflows.
  • Hands-on experience coding, scripting, debugging integrations, and working with tools such as GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and APIs.
  • Proven experience owning or redesigning product or engineering processes within software companies with teams exceeding 100 engineers.
  • Demonstrated practical experience creating AI agents or agentic workflows that perform real work, beyond experimentation.
  • Strong cross-functional influence enabling consensus among Product, Engineering, and leadership on unified operating processes.

Preferred Extras

  • Familiarity with BPMN standards, Camunda, or similar workflow engines.
  • Background in product operations, developer experience, or platform engineering.
