Job Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in React, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of a crucial client-facing production application. This role demands expertise in React frontend development, ensuring a performant, accessible, and robust user interface while maintaining proficiency across the entire technology stack. Your secondary duties will include contributing to backend API development to facilitate seamless system integration and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, code, and support full-stack applications focusing mainly on React frontend components to deliver high-quality and scalable features.
• Sustain and improve the state management system following established development paradigms without introducing conflicting methodologies.
• Monitor and enhance frontend rendering performance under realistic client conditions to ensure responsive and dependable user experiences.
• Implement accessibility standards (WCAG) throughout design and development to guarantee inclusive user interfaces.
• Enforce strict change management and quality assurance procedures to minimize risks in a live production environment.
• Collaborate with backend teams by integrating APIs and services to provide cohesive frontend experiences.

Qualifications

• At least five years of practical React development experience with deep knowledge of state management including component state, Hooks, and Context API in complex enterprise applications.
• Strong skills in TypeScript to build and maintain scalable, secure, and maintainable frontend codebases.
• Demonstrated ability to detect, analyze, and resolve frontend performance challenges in production settings.
• Thorough understanding and application of web accessibility (WCAG) standards in hands-on design and development.
• Proven capacity to rapidly comprehend and enhance existing large codebases following existing architectural styles.
• Competent in Java backend coding to support API layer contributions and full-stack delivery when frontend tasks allow.

• Experience maintaining and working within an active, established production system rather than greenfield projects.
• Ability and willingness to adhere to pre-existing architecture and coding conventions, avoiding the introduction of new patterns.
• Strong awareness of change-management processes necessary for mission-critical client deployments.
• Basic familiarity with mapping and GIS technologies.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to speed development while maintaining code ownership and review.
