Senior Engineer - Projects and Planning (Fire Fighting Systems)

Job Overview

This role involves comprehensive planning and execution management of fire fighting system installations including hydrants, sprinklers, pump rooms, fire alarms, and related components.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project schedules, work breakdown structures, and execution plans specific to fire fighting systems.
• Analyze CAD drawings and align execution timelines with approved project plans.
• Organize manpower, equipment, materials, and tools; collaborate with procurement and storage teams to ensure timely resource availability onsite.
• Monitor daily and weekly progress versus the baseline schedule, generate progress status reports, management information systems (MIS) updates, and upcoming work plans for internal and client use.
• Detect potential delays, risks, or bottlenecks early, and recommend recovery strategies and corrective actions.
• Liaise efficiently with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, design teams, and client contacts to facilitate seamless project execution.
• Compile and audit measurement sheets, conduct quantity take-offs, and prepare billing documentation supported by detailed records.
• Maintain and update all project documentation including drawings, approvals, inspections, test reports, and handover paperwork.
• Ensure all works adhere to applicable fire safety codes, client requirements, legal regulations, and labour compliance standards.
• Implement and oversee workplace health and safety protocols; participate in safety audits and inspections.
• Assist in commissioning, testing, client training sessions, and formal project completion handover.
• Review project expenditures against plans and assist in timely invoicing and financial reconciliation.

This role is based onsite in Chandigarh, India, and requires close coordination among multidisciplinary teams to meet stringent safety and quality benchmarks.
