Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role

An established engineering consultancy specializing in the built environment is expanding its team in Dublin and seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer. This role centers on leading electrical design and implementation for large-scale data centres and mission-critical infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery of robust, energy-efficient power solutions tailored for hyperscale and high-performance computing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and execution of significant data centre and mission-critical projects.
• Provide technical leadership in critical power distribution systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Produce detailed electrical designs focusing on power resilience and reliability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate systems effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status is preferred, or actively pursuing chartership.
• At least 7 years of experience in electrical or building services design, with a preference for data centre or mission-critical environments.
• In-depth knowledge of high, medium, and low voltage power distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, and critical power infrastructure components.
• Expertise in conducting electrical load assessments, cable sizing, protection coordination, and short-circuit analysis.
• Understanding of redundancy frameworks such as N+1 and 2N architectures.
• Demonstrated success in leading electrical design packages and coordinating multiple engineering disciplines.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering standards, Building Information Modeling (BIM) including Revit, and compliance with Irish regulations.
