Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide expert technical guidance and implement innovative engineering solutions. This role demands ensuring design accuracy, mentoring junior engineers, and enhancing electrical capabilities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert technical advice and innovative solutions to efficiently resolve engineering queries and issues.
• Design, develop, and implement precise engineering solutions ensuring high technical quality.
• Identify training needs for self and junior team members to maintain superior technical standards.
• Assist EDL Operations in safe and timely issue resolution.
• Adopt and enforce electrical engineering standards and appropriate technical documentation.
• Certify engineering schemes as a registered professional engineer when required.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared objectives.
• Improve electrical engineering processes and stay abreast of industry developments at EDL.
• Proactively maintain personal and workplace health and safety in compliance with obligations.
• Follow and support company policies as updated and directed by management.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the company as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Holds a Washington Accord accredited degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status or actively pursuing registration.
• At least 10 years of extensive experience in the Electrical Engineering domain.
• Sound understanding of safety design principles with emphasis on risk management.
• Experience in heavy industry sectors such as mining, power generation, or oil and gas is advantageous.
• Familiarity with design and project safety assessments like HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, and safety reviews is desirable.
