Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer to assist with Fit-Out and MEP projects based in DIFC, Dubai. This role demands expertise in electrical design review, power demand analysis, site inspections, testing and commissioning, as well as managing contractor interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage tenant, event, and DIFC-related Fit-Out requests submitted via portal or email.
• Ensure timely completion of Fit-Out projects while maintaining quality standards.
• Review electrical schematics and work closely with contractors to clarify technical issues and requirements.
• Track and facilitate authority approvals for design and inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform feasibility assessments for electrical power enhancements considering tenant needs, existing capacity, and site conditions.
• Coordinate with Facilities Management (FM) teams to schedule power shutdowns and modify electrical panels.
• Communicate and coordinate with tenants impacted by planned power outages.
• Provide technical supervision and direction to site inspectors and contractors during execution phases.
• Conduct regular site visits to identify technical problems and suggest corrective actions.
• Oversee Insulation Resistance (Megger) and live electrical testing procedures.
• Conduct first-fix inspections and supply corrective feedback before closing false ceilings.
• Carry out final inspections to verify electrical service functionality prior to approval.
• Collaborate with base-build, Fire & Life Safety (FLS), and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) contractors to ensure integrated system performance.
• Validate that construction complies with authority-approved drawings and witness testing and commissioning activities, including those of Life Safety Systems.
• Work closely with mechanical and civil teams to ensure that electrical power needs and outlet placements align with equipment, retail or F&B requirements, furniture plans, and interior design considerations.
• Schedule inspections and complete required checklists through the project management portal.
• Identify and escalate non-standard works and technical challenges to relevant engineering disciplines.
• Alert QHSE teams when unsafe work practices are detected on site.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination among contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to seamlessly integrate electrical systems within Fit-Out projects.

Experience working in commercial buildings, high-rise developments, retail/F&B fit-out projects, mixed-use properties, or Facilities Management environments is highly desirable.
