Job description
Job Overview
As a Senior Economic Modeling Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing economic models that generate analytical and econometric outputs essential for guiding decision-making processes. Your work will support strategic and economic planning within the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly update and refine economic models and tools by adding new variables and indicators to improve forecasting accuracy for economic indicators.
- Lead the rigorous review, cleansing, and precise aggregation of economic data collected from various stakeholders to feed into models and indicators.
- Manage data inputs related to models to ensure reliable forecasting outcomes.
- Conduct quantitative economic data analyses related to Abu Dhabi's economy sourced from relevant entities.
- Develop stress testing scenarios based on assumptions from the Economic Research and Reports Section.
- Create relevant economic indicators utilizing data from external government bodies, such as the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi.
- Contribute to the formulation of economic forecasts for specific sectors using quantitative regression analysis and collaboratively developed assumptions aligned with current trends.
- Authorize briefing reports summarizing the quantitative methodologies employed.
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong foundation in economic principles and data modeling with an excellent grasp of economic analysis and forecasting.
- Proven experience in developing teams and exercising analytical decision-making skills.
- Superior communication and relationship management abilities.
- Proficiency in Arabic at an excellent level and very good command of English.
- High competence in computer applications relevant to economic analysis.
Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree in Economics or a related field is mandatory, along with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in economic modeling or a similar area.
