Senior Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Developer (Operations)

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Developer to join our Operations and Support team. This full-time position is based onsite in Christchurch, New Zealand, and offers the opportunity to engage in designing, developing, and maintaining Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and tailor Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations applications using X++ programming.
• Create and maintain integrations leveraging Azure Logic Apps, REST APIs, and other Azure cloud services.
• Design and implement reports, data entities, workflows, and custom extensions to meet business needs.
• Interpret business requirements to deliver appropriate technical solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to applications, integrations, and production environments.
• Manage deployment activities, environment settings, and release processes.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate effectively with functional consultants, stakeholders, and clients to ensure alignment of solutions.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance to project teams throughout delivery phases.

Required Skills and Experience

• Over six years of professional experience developing in Dynamics 365 F&O or AX environments.
• Proficient in X++ development with comprehensive knowledge of D365 F&O system architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Extensions, Chain of Command (CoC) patterns, Data Entities, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and workflow configurations.
• Skilled in integrating systems using Azure Logic Apps, RESTful APIs, OData protocols, and Data Management Framework (DMF).
• Familiar with Azure DevOps tools including build pipelines and release management.
• Strong analytical abilities with proven troubleshooting and debugging expertise.
• Effective communication capability combined with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365 technologies.
• Experience working with Power Platform, Electronic Reporting (ER) tools, and broader Azure cloud services.
• Background in production support and managed services contexts is advantageous.
