Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Domain Architect specializing in Multi-Cloud to join our Wellington-based team. This permanent, full-time position involves hybrid work with 2-3 days on-site weekly. The role demands strong leadership in Azure and hybrid cloud environments, shaping customer strategies while delivering secure, resilient, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to clients on hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, investment options, and optimal workload placements.
- Design Azure and hybrid cloud architectures that emphasize security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create architecture designs, roadmaps, standards, reusable patterns, and technical decision documentation.
- Ensure architecture governance throughout discovery, design, delivery, and operational phases.
- Lead engineering teams in adopting Infrastructure as Code, DevOps practices, automation, and repeatable deployment pipelines.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, including conducting workshops, developing proposals, responding to RFPs, estimates, and delivering presentations.
- Mentor architects and engineers, fostering development within architecture communities of practice.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years of IT experience including roles in senior architecture, engineering, consulting, or technical leadership.
- A minimum of 5 years hands-on cloud engineering and architectural experience in live production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Azure architecture and engineering, including networking, security, and Microsoft Entra ID identity solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and documenting complex enterprise cloud or hybrid cloud solutions.
- Proficient with Terraform, Bicep, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipeline creation.
- Hands-on experience scripting and integrating APIs using REST and JSON.
- Competent in Windows and Linux administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, cloud governance, and security.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, technical leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
- Possession of relevant cloud architecture certifications or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Additional Experience
- Knowledge of AWS, VMware, Hyper-V, and multi-cloud governance strategies.
- Experience with Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service, and platform engineering.
- Familiarity with Python, Azure Functions, n8n automation workflows, and event-driven architectures.
- Exposure to Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and FinOps practices.
- Certifications in Azure, AWS, Terraform, or VMware technology stacks.
