Senior DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are collaborating with a rapidly expanding ecommerce company based in the UAE to recruit a DevOps Engineer. The performance of their platform is crucial, impacting revenue through uptime, deployment speed, and infrastructure dependability. This opportunity allows you to influence operations significantly as the platform undergoes rapid scaling.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, resilience, and optimization suitable for a high-traffic ecommerce system.
• Design and sustain CI/CD pipelines that facilitate fast, reliable, and consistent delivery of software across diverse teams.
• Lead efforts in containerization and orchestration of environments such as development, staging, and production utilizing Kubernetes and Docker.
• Develop and upkeep infrastructure-as-code frameworks using tools like Terraform or Ansible to minimize manual interventions and boost consistency.
• Establish and take ownership of observability standards encompassing logging, monitoring, alerting, and managing incident responses.
• Collaborate closely with software engineering groups to integrate a DevOps mindset fostering shared responsibility throughout the delivery cycle.
• Participate in architectural platform decisions focused on enhancing reliability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 3 to 5 years of practical experience within DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles.
• Demonstrated proficiency with at least one principal cloud provider among AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, along with in-depth knowledge of cloud-native services.
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in a production setting and managing container orchestration.
• Proven experience developing and administrating CI/CD workflows utilizing tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Strong skills with infrastructure-as-code tools, notably Terraform.
• Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts, security basics, and strategies for cloud expense management.
• Background in ecommerce or platforms servicing heavy consumer traffic is highly beneficial.
