Role Overview

We seek a seasoned Senior ERP Developer to bolster our in-house Microsoft Dynamics capabilities and assist in transitioning from NAV to Business Central systems. This role involves crafting, implementing, and maintaining ERP features, APIs, and integrations critical to business systems while engaging with cross-regional and multifunctional teams.

Opportunity Details

Our Modernize Business Systems initiative aims to update from the older Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. By joining us now, you will influence current operational systems and contribute to developing a robust future global platform with in-house development expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support Business Central and NAV extensions, customized features, and enhancements using AL and C/AL programming languages.
• Create secure APIs, web services, and system integrations linking ERP with integration platforms and other software.
• Evaluate existing legacy customizations to determine what should be retained, redesigned, replaced, or retired.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to applications, integrations, data, and system performance by addressing root causes.
• Adhere to stringent coding standards, source control, documentation, rigorous testing, peer reviews, and release protocols.
• Communicate technical alternatives, risks, and dependencies clearly across business and IT stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive commercial experience developing with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central.
• Advanced proficiency in AL and C/AL languages, including creating upgrade-safe extensions and customizations.
• Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs, web services, and integrations.
• In-depth understanding of ERP processes along with strong SQL Server and data troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and ability to collaborate effectively.

Additional Valuable Skills

• A formal qualification is a plus; however, equivalent practical experience is equally considered.
• Experience in upgrading from NAV to Business Central, cloud migrations, testing, or deployment cutovers.
• Knowledge of ERP processes related to finance, sales, inventory, warehousing, manufacturing, or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with Azure integration services, Azure DevOps, Git version control, continuous integration/deployment pipelines, and automated testing.

Working Conditions

This global position requires attending occasional meetings outside regular New Zealand business hours to engage with international colleagues. The company provides flexibility and aims to manage these schedules practically and sustainably.
