Senior Developer - Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

About the Role

At Fusion5, we are pioneering digital transformation through business applications, AI, cloud, and security technologies. Our expanding Dynamics 365 practice seeks a Senior Developer to take end-to-end ownership of solutions, ensuring quality and guiding the team in integrating AI responsibly within the development process. This role is based in Auckland, New Zealand, with flexible placement across any of our New Zealand offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery lifecycle from design through production, ensuring solutions are high-quality, clean, and maintainable.
• Coach and enhance the capabilities of fellow developers within the team.
• Champion how AI-assisted development is utilized appropriately to boost productivity and code quality.
• Design, develop, and sustain reliable and scalable Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations solutions.
• Manage solution enhancements by assessing their impacts, selecting optimal technical approaches, and balancing quality with delivery timelines.
• Take accountability for solution quality across testing, peer reviews, change management, and version control.
• Maintain production environment stability by proactively identifying risks and implementing fixes prior to incidents.
• Provide accurate, commercially sound estimates and flag potential budget risks promptly.
• Contribute to refining engineering practices and tool evaluations, including responsible AI usage in development.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, preferably including Dynamics AX 2012.
• Proficient in working with Integrations, OData, Data Management, Lifecycle Services, DevOps, Power Platform, SQL Server, and MorphX.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, building, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Proven track record in diagnosing and addressing complex production issues at their root causes.
• Experience mentoring developers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience, supplemented by pertinent technical certifications.
• Values security, data integrity, and clean architecture while pragmatically balancing delivery pressures.
• Keen discernment of AI-assisted development tools with pragmatic perspectives on efficacy and quality standards for AI-generated code.
