Role Overview

The Senior Developer position is focused on advanced policy-driven authorisation implementation using Axiomatics platforms. Working alongside the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and integrating ABAC policies into applications and services, ensuring robust access control across systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain authorisation policies using ALFA or XACML languages.
• Configure and deploy Axiomatics Policy Decision Points (PDPs) and integrate them with Policy Enforcement Points (PEPs).
• Design and develop attribute retrieval mechanisms via Policy Information Points (PIPs).
• Integrate Axiomatics solutions with various applications, APIs, and API gateways.
• Implement automated testing, tracing, and validation frameworks for policies.
• Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines enabling streamlined policy updates.
• Conduct peer reviews of policy code and configurations to ensure quality and compliance.
• Assist in managing defect triage processes and enhance policy evaluation performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Between four and six years (or more) of experience in security engineering, identity and access management, or backend platform development roles.
• At least three years of hands-on experience working with Axiomatics, XACML, or attribute-based access control (ABAC) systems.
• Strong comprehension of policy evaluation models and attribute-based authorization methods.
• Proven ability to integrate authorization engines within applications or APIs effectively.

Security Clearance & Work Conditions

Applicants must hold a current NV2 security clearance and be willing to work onsite full-time, five days a week at the Canberra location.
