Senior Design Manager

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Design Manager to spearhead multidisciplinary design efforts for substantial building projects. This pivotal position demands strategic leadership, strong technical insight, and the capability to foster design excellence while coordinating efficiently across regional and international teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the comprehensive design execution for large, intricate building projects, ensuring all work aligns with project goals through close collaboration with Project Managers and Directors.
• Provide visionary guidance to multidisciplinary design teams, guaranteeing designs are cohesive, technically sound, and meet client expectations.
• Work collaboratively across different regions, disciplines, and business groups to garner technical support, optimize resources, and resolve design issues across all project stages.
• Ensure clear understanding and communication of client requirements throughout the design process to aid informed decision-making and successful project delivery.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing design team, cultivating accountability, technical mastery, and continuous professional growth.
• Partner with Business Group and project leadership to oversee workloads, address staffing needs, assess team performance, and maintain alignment with delivery goals.
• Exhibit strong ownership by proactively tackling challenges while balancing the needs of projects, clients, and team members to achieve superior outcomes.
• Supervise the implementation of design workflows and project execution within complex multidisciplinary contexts, maintaining compliance with company policies, project objectives, and local laws.
• Develop and refine design management policies, processes, and procedures by integrating global best practices and quality standards.
• Ensure consistent application of company standards and technical processes across all projects, effectively coordinating cross-disciplinary activities to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Apply sound judgment within defined operational limits to ensure efficient task completion and optimal resource alignment for client and business benefit.
• Collaborate internally with teams and technical disciplines to support project integration, improve delivery efficiency, and uphold exemplary design quality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrated success in leading and delivering design for complex, large-scale building projects.
• Robust technical background in architecture, engineering, or related disciplines.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse disciplines, business sectors, and geographic regions.
• Experienced in managing, coaching, and growing design teams.
