Senior Data Scientist

Role Overview

Join a pioneering team as a Senior Data Scientist, leading the creation and deployment of cutting-edge time series forecasting models to enhance logistics processes, including ETA prediction, preparation scheduling, and demand forecasting. You will architect optimization algorithms and solvers aimed at improving network efficiency, resource allocation, and route planning within the delivery sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the research, development, and deployment of advanced forecasting solutions tailored for logistics efficiency.
• Develop optimization methodologies to streamline logistics operations and enhance resource utilization.
• Design and execute thorough experimental protocols to validate model performance across different scenarios.
• Manage the deployment lifecycle of machine learning models, ensuring monitoring and retraining pipelines maintain accuracy over time.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and researchers to identify problems and implement innovative data-driven solutions.
• Perform A/B testing and experimentation to assess model effectiveness and improve key logistics metrics.
• Communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner to senior stakeholders.
• Provide technical mentorship and advocate best practices in data science within the team.
• Keep abreast of emerging AI and machine learning technologies and incorporate relevant advances into logistics modeling.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or relevant domains; a PhD is advantageous.
• Brings over 5 years of expertise in data science, particularly in time series forecasting and optimization modeling.
• Experienced with forecasting techniques such as ARIMA, Prophet, LightGBM, TFT, DeepAR, and N-BEATS.
• Proficient in optimization methods including linear and mixed-integer programming, heuristics, and tools like OR-Tools or PuLP.
• Advanced Python skills with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Optuna, LightGBM, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Demonstrated ability in deploying scalable ML models and maintaining retraining frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with A/B testing and experimental design methodologies.
• Competent in managing large datasets and utilizing SQL databases like BigQuery and Redash.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS (ECS, S3, Lambda, Step Functions), GCP (BigQuery, VertexAI), and Databricks.
• Experience in the logistics or delivery industry preferred, with insight into its operational challenges and optimization opportunities.
