Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and data solutions tailored to use cases in Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, and Power & Utilities, utilizing Cognite’s core platform capabilities.
• Lead in-depth use case workshops alongside domain experts to clearly identify challenges and map them to available data.
• Conduct thorough data cleansing and exploratory data analyses to prepare datasets for modeling.
• Develop physical and machine learning models using Python, followed by deployment in a model hosting environment.
• Integrate Generative AI techniques to enhance data-driven decision-making processes for clients.
• Create interactive dashboards using tools such as Grafana, Power BI, Plotly, or Dash to visualize solutions.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of data science solution templates and best practices within the team.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior data scientists, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, project managers, and solution architects to deliver projects that maximize the benefits of Cognite’s industrial DataOps platform for customers.
• Support customers and partners by undertaking data science tasks that utilize Cognite’s products.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline or engineering fields such as mechanical, systems, electrical, or industrial engineering.
• At least five years of full-time experience as a data scientist, preferably within related industries, or possessing domain expertise in Energy, Oil and Gas, Maintenance, or Manufacturing sectors.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience deploying Python-based solutions in production environments considered an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and optimization methods.
• Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with external customers.
• Experience with managed cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon Web Services is a plus.
• Understanding of Oil and Gas industry domain knowledge, particularly Asset Performance Management and production optimization, is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and independently deliver results.
• Proven mentoring and coaching skills to support team development.
