Senior Data Science Analyst

Overview

Qatar Airways invites applications for a Senior Data Science Analyst to join the Flight Operations - Operational Strategy & Innovation team based in Doha, Qatar. This role focuses on applying advanced analytical techniques to improve the efficiency of Flight Operations and Technical Operations (CAMO).

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise in data science, statistics, machine learning, and optimization to enhance analytics within Flight and Technical Operations.
• Build and sustain strong business understanding, particularly in on-time performance, flight scheduling, predictive maintenance, and related operational costs.
• Deliver multiple complex and sophisticated analyses efficiently, collaborating closely with Flight and Technical Operations teams to address business challenges with innovative solutions.
• Lead comprehensive data analyses to identify trends, extract operational insights, perform forecasting, and create data-supported recommendations.
• Develop and implement machine learning models and optimization algorithms.
• Create prototype decision-support tools grounded in machine learning and optimization for evaluation by stakeholders.
• Leverage cutting-edge tools, open-source frameworks, and cloud platforms including Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and Databricks to build predictive and prescriptive analytics. Familiarity with the Skywise platform is advantageous.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years in a dedicated Data Science capacity.
• Proven experience applying statistics, advanced analytics, and operations research techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Strong presentation skills and expertise in data visualization.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data prep, querying, and machine learning development.
• Practical experience with Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
• Familiarity with optimization tools such as Cplex, Gurobi, and Google OR-Tools.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience using leading Business Intelligence tools including Qlik, Power BI, and Tableau.
• Working knowledge of the Skywise platform is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging professionally with senior management and diverse stakeholders.
• Certifications in Data Science or Machine Learning from any cloud provider are an advantage.
