Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Consultant Data Engineer with advanced expertise in Snowflake to join our Data & Analytics practice based in Doha. This permanent role involves designing and optimizing cloud-native data platforms that empower financial institutions to leverage their data for analytics, compliance, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms leveraging Snowflake and contemporary data engineering tools.
• Create strong ELT/ETL processes by integrating data from diverse enterprise sources, ensuring data quality, security, and governance.
• Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to transform business needs into technical solutions.
• Enhance Snowflake's performance and cost-effectiveness via effective data modeling and platform tuning.
• Provide technical leadership in client projects, including mentoring junior team members and supporting project delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrable experience delivering enterprise-scale data engineering projects with hands-on Snowflake expertise.
• At least 5 years working with Snowflake platforms.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, and familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, data integration, and governance standards.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and consulting capabilities to engage both technical and business audiences.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks, including leading technical teams or workstreams.
• End-to-end experience in building ELT/ETL data pipelines for ingestion and transformation.
• Knowledge of advanced Snowflake features such as Snowpark, Dynamic Tables, Streams & Tasks, Snowpipe/streaming ingestion, dbt projects, and open table formats like Apache Iceberg.
• Familiarity with modern data engineering tools including dbt, Apache Airflow, and Kafka.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Certifications in Snowflake or other cloud technologies.
• Exposure to financial sectors including banking, capital markets, or insurance.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Prior consulting experience involving complex client engagements.
