Overview
This contract opportunity is for a Senior Data and Reporting Analyst supporting a client in the Greater Toronto Area, with work based in Scarborough and an onsite expectation of two days per week. The assignment is expected to run for approximately 12 months. The role pays between $62 and $76 per hour.
In this position, you will turn complex IT service management and operational information into practical insights that improve service performance, stability, and strategic decision-making. You will help advance enterprise reporting across Power BI, ServiceNow, and connected data environments, supporting a move toward more proactive, insight-led operations. You will work closely with technology, operations, and business partners, providing trusted guidance on reporting approaches that support critical banking services.
What You Will Do
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide visibility into ITSM performance, key metrics, and overall operational health.
- Bring together and examine data from ServiceNow modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, and CMDB, along with cloud, infrastructure, and application sources.
- Convert complex datasets into clear insights and leadership-ready stories that surface trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Carry out trend analysis to uncover recurring issues and areas where processes can be improved.
- Work with stakeholders to understand needs, rank reporting priorities, and deliver reporting solutions that can scale.
- Create and sustain reporting standards, KPI definitions, and data models.
- Maintain data quality, governance, accuracy, and proper documentation across reporting assets.
- Improve automation and streamline reporting workflows to reduce manual work and increase efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional conversations that help teams make decisions based on data.
Required Background
The client is looking for someone with 5 to 7+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, or business intelligence. Strong Power BI expertise is essential, including at least 5 years of hands-on development experience with data modeling, DAX, and dashboard creation.
You should have a solid understanding of ITIL and Site Reliability Engineering practices, plus direct experience using ServiceNow ITSM data for operational reporting. The ideal candidate can transform data into meaningful insight and executive-level messaging, recognize trends and anomalies quickly, and work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills are critical. Experience in technology environments, especially within financial services, is preferred.
Additional Details
This role is intended to be a 12 month contract in Scarborough, with a hybrid setup requiring two days per week in office.
The client has also noted that artificial intelligence tools may be used during screening, although applications will still be reviewed by a recruitment team member to support a fair and complete assessment.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is required. Preferred fields include Business, Finance, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
