The Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Credit Analyst to join our expanding team in Kathmandu, who will work in close partnership with Australian mortgage experts. This role involves evaluating residential mortgage loan applications by analysing borrowers' financial standing, scrutinizing supporting documents, and calculating serviceability and credit risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze residential mortgage loan applications comprehensively.
- Perform in-depth credit and risk assessments to identify lending risks.
- Review applicants’ income sources, expenses, assets, liabilities, and overall financial health.
- Examine payslips, bank statements, tax documents, financial reports, and other evidentiary materials.
- Calculate serviceability metrics to ensure borrower eligibility.
- Verify accuracy of applicant data and documentation.
- Ensure loan applications comply with lender-specific credit policies and guidelines.
- Detect and report any inconsistencies or potential risk factors within applications.
- Compile clear and concise credit assessment recommendations.
- Coordinate with Australian mortgage brokers and stakeholders on application status and clarifications.
- Confirm applications meet lender requirements before submission.
- Handle numerous applications simultaneously while maintaining precision and quick processing.
- Provide guidance and support to loan processors and junior analysts as needed.
- Keep abreast of changes in Australian lending regulations, credit requirements, and industry best practices.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Credit Analyst.
- Proven expertise in credit assessment and financial analysis processes.
- Deep understanding of loan evaluation and credit risk methodologies.
- Strong capability in verifying income, liabilities, expenses, and serviceability calculations.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong document-review skills.
- Excellent analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English communication.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple loan applications effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically with Australian residential mortgage lending.
- Familiarity working alongside Australian mortgage brokers, lenders, or financial institutions.
- Knowledge of Australian lenders’ policies, credit guidelines, and serviceability criteria.
- Practical experience using mortgage or CRM software platforms like MyCRM, ApplyOnline, Mercury, or similar.
