Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Senior Consultant for our Gold Coast office. This pivotal role demands expert knowledge in urban planning to deliver regulatory and strategic planning advice. As a senior member, you will spearhead high-impact land use planning and policy projects across private and public sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist in preparing development applications such as Material Change of Use, Reconfiguration of Land, Ministerial Infrastructure Designations, Variation Applications, and contribute planning expertise to growth strategies, precinct plans, employment and housing studies.
- Deliver detailed planning analysis and advisory services grounded in contemporary government policies, regional/local priorities, market changes, and stakeholder requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including economics, urban design, transport, infrastructure advisory, community planning, and stakeholder engagement specialists.
- Prepare and evaluate comprehensive reports, presentations, and public communications that simplify complex urban planning concepts.
- Ensure project delivery meets deadlines, stays within budget, and maintains quality standards.
- Provide mentorship and professional development guidance to team members when appropriate.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Town Planning or a related field.
- Has preferably at least five years of experience within an urban planning consultancy setting.
- Demonstrates robust knowledge of strategic and statutory planning informed by relevant legislation, gained ideally through consultancy or local/state government roles.
- Has a thorough understanding of statutory planning policies, processes, and their implications.
- Possesses insight into land-use impacts and development challenges.
