Role Context
We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Passenger Transport team within the Consultancy division. The role includes flexible hybrid working options at any of our offices in London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin, or Leeds. The position involves leading projects related to bus operations across the UK and closely collaborating with the existing team to meet diverse client needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical support in delivering projects related to bus operations, network planning, and ticketing/information systems.
- Engage proactively with clients to verify and address their current requirements.
- Contribute individually or collaboratively to technical solutions for established clients.
- Discuss client needs and explore opportunities to secure new business for SYSTRA.
- Commit to ongoing personal skill development to remain at the forefront of evolving technologies and methodologies.
- Collaborate with other divisions within SYSTRA Consultancy to integrate public transport components in wider projects such as transport planning studies, development plans, and business case preparation.
- Manage projects, proposals, and support business development activities.
- Identify and clearly communicate client and project objectives.
- Conduct model quality assurance to support investment and transaction decisions.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports and presentations.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Possession of a relevant degree (e.g., Transport Planning, Mathematics, Science) or a Master’s degree in Transport Planning, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in bus operations including network planning and commercial aspects.
- Hands-on experience delivering ticketing or information system projects.
- Proven experience working directly with clients, including onsite client secondments.
- Strong skills in report and proposal writing.
- Established professional relationships with clients in both public and private sectors.
- Adaptable and capable of managing multiple competing project demands efficiently.
