Senior Cloud Engineer

About the Role

EC1 Partners is partnering with a leading global financial technology firm that is scaling up its cloud engineering capabilities in Singapore. They seek a Senior Cloud Engineer to be part of a global platform operations team, responsible for creating and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure that supports critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and manage cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
• Deploy and administer Kubernetes and EKS platforms along with containerized workloads.
• Utilize Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Develop and maintain GitOps workflows leveraging Argo CD.
• Work with Helm Charts and other Kubernetes ecosystem tools.
• Lead cloud infrastructure projects from conceptual design through to implementation and operational handover.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation processes, system observability, and platform reliability.
• Collaborate closely with application engineering, security, and operations teams.
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and production incidents.
• Contribute to technical standards, platform architecture, and best engineering practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production environments.

The position involves approximately 70% project-driven engineering and 30% operational support, with an anticipated increase in project work with upcoming initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 6 years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Expert hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, with a preference for experience using EKS.
• Advanced skills in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with Argo CD and GitOps methodologies.
• Experience in deploying and managing containerized applications.
• Solid knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Exposure to CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Capability in scripting and automation, especially in Python.
• Good understanding of cloud networking concepts, identity and access management (IAM), observability, and security best practices.
• Proven track record of independently leading infrastructure platforms, migrations, or substantial engineering projects.
• Effective communication skills with experience collaborating across globally distributed engineering teams.

Background in financial services, trading environments, or other highly available production contexts is desirable but not mandatory.
