About the Role
This Senior Business Analyst position, based in Abu Dhabi, focuses on analyzing and gathering business requirements across multiple internal stakeholders within the company. Responsibilities include conducting a gap analysis of the existing legacy back-office solution deployed across diverse business lines such as Retail Brokerage, Institutional Brokerage, Market Making/Liquidity Providing, and Asset Management. The role aligns system enhancements and business processes with the organization's future strategy, products, and roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and assess detailed requirements and functionalities of the current back-office system utilized by various business segments.
- Perform a thorough system gap analysis to highlight discrepancies between the existing back-office implementation and the company's strategic future plans and product roadmap.
- Propose enhancements to current and upcoming features, system functionalities, architecture, hardware, and process automation related to the back-office system.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), covering system features, workflows, configurations, and upgrades consistent with future business needs.
- Review the data architecture of the back-office system and recommend improvements adhering to Data Governance policies and best practices.
- Coordinate with business units, IT teams, and vendors to define system specifications through detailed analyses, supporting back-office system developments.
- Keep abreast of the latest industry developments in brokerage back-office systems, including trends in automation, data reconciliation, regulatory compliance, and system integration to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- At least eight years of professional experience within the financial services sector focusing on brokerage back-office systems, investment banking, capital markets, or brokerage software development environments as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Proven expertise in gathering business and functional requirements and developing and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cases for Front-office, Middle-Office, and Back-office systems, including managing Epics and Stories for system rollouts.
- Substantial experience within back-office operations supporting electronic trading systems in brokerage, trading, or investment banking.
- Preference for candidates with experience in brokerage firms or software houses specializing in back-office trading system development.
- Familiarity with project and issue tracking tools such as JIRA (Epics, Stories), SharePoint, SQL querying, and business process modeling tools like Bizagi and MS Visio.
- Robust data analysis skills supported by strong analytical, communicative, and interpersonal capabilities.
