Role Overview
The Senior Business Analyst – Payment Solutions plays a crucial technical role focused on the implementation of specific payment rails, requiring a deep understanding of various payment options and features. This position involves leading the end-to-end delivery of card and local payment methods, navigating the complexities of global payments to help businesses effectively reach multiple markets with tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical initiatives with card schemes and alternative payment method (APM) partners to expand acquiring regions, introduce new payment methods, and deliver enhanced payment options to merchants.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, accounting, treasury, legal, compliance, and product teams to develop testing strategies and oversee provider technical certifications.
- Collect and analyze information about new payment features, translating requirements and processing rules clearly for product teams.
- Provide operational support by assisting internal teams in processes such as merchant onboarding, scheme registration, clearing, and settlement troubleshooting.
- Act as a payment knowledge expert within the organization to empower merchant-facing teams to address complex inquiries confidently.
- Engage proactively with payment schemes and partners to introduce innovative payment solutions while ensuring high processing standards are maintained.
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of practical experience as a Business Analyst or in payments processing within financial services, ideally working closely with engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of card schemes, alternative payment methods, and payments processing principles.
- Technical capability using tools such as APIs, Postman, and DataDog.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to handle complex data sets.
- Competency with business intelligence tools (Excel, Looker) and SQL is highly advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, suitable for all levels of interaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude, eager to learn continuously and adept at managing shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
