Job description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior or Lead Business Analyst with deep expertise in the Asset Management sector. The ideal candidate will have between 8 to 12 plus years of comprehensive business analysis experience, particularly within Asset and Investment Management, and the ability to autonomously handle complex analysis touching business, operations, data, and technology domains.
Asset Management Domain Expertise
- Proficiency in Portfolio Management and Portfolio Accounting processes.
- Understanding of Investment Operations.
- Knowledge of the Order and Trade Lifecycle, including post-trade functions.
- Familiarity with Investment Performance Measurement techniques.
- Experience with Investment and Client Reporting requirements.
- Competence in Valuation and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
- Handling Benchmarks, market data, and investment-related data.
- Expertise in Cash, position, and transaction reconciliation.
- Exposure to Mutual Funds and/or Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM).
Business Analysis Skills
- Expertise in eliciting, analyzing, and managing requirements effectively.
- Ability to translate business needs into well-defined, actionable requirements.
- Development and management of business and functional requirements.
- Definition of business rules, validations, control mechanisms, and exception scenarios.
- Managing data requirements, data analysis, and coordinating data mapping efforts.
- Specification of system and integration requirements.
- Conducting impact assessments, dependency evaluations, and gap analyses.
- Maintenance of requirements traceability and handling change management processes.
- Stakeholder engagement and facilitation of workshops to drive consensus.
- Setting acceptance criteria, supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensuring business validation.
- Collaboration with business stakeholders, technical architects, developers, vendors, and other delivery teams.
Candidate Profile
The role demands a mature, analytical mindset beyond routine requirements documentation. The candidate should be adept at interpreting business challenges, questioning assumptions when necessary, analyzing processes and data to find gaps and dependencies, and steering the analysis towards feasible implementation solutions.
Preferred Technical Platforms and Skills
- Experience with Investment Management or Portfolio Accounting platforms such as Advent APX, SimCorp, Charles River, Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM, FactSet, or comparable systems is beneficial.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, including SQL, is highly advantageous.
