Job Summary
The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing clients' financial records with precision and efficiency, ensuring exceptional service quality while cultivating strong client relationships. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, professional communication skills, and enthusiasm for supporting business growth.
Core Responsibilities
- Handling bookkeeping and management accounting services for a varied client base including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Engaging directly with clients and coordinating with their managers.
- Compiling and submitting quarterly VAT returns accurately.
- Organising and executing diverse assignments within set deadlines.
- Recording accruals and prepayments appropriately.
- Reconciling control accounts routinely.
- Posting journal entries as needed.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Fully qualified with AAT or CAT certification.
- Strong proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Excel, and VT.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
Additional Requirements
- At least 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy firm.
- Understanding of Brexit implications is advantageous.
- Advanced skills in Xero and other accounting software, along with a keen interest in technology and strong Excel capabilities.
- Detail-oriented and highly organised.
- Team player with a focus on collaboration and client satisfaction, committed to ongoing personal growth.
Work Arrangement
This position is based in the office in Enfield, United Kingdom.
Compensation
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
