Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous bookkeeper to join our team in Cork City on a full-time or part-time basis. The position involves managing debtors and creditors, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and preparing monthly management Profit & Loss accounts. This role suits candidates with solid accounting abilities and experience ensuring payroll compliance with Irish regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain precise financial records, perform bank statement reconciliations, and oversee accounts payable and receivable.
  • Administer monthly payroll operations, managing PAYE, pensions, and compliance with Irish Revenue requirements.
  • Compile monthly management accounts including P&L statements, balance sheets, and other key financial reports to support business decisions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by submitting VAT returns, supporting year-end account preparations, and adhering to legislative standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and management accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software such as Thesaurus.
  • In-depth understanding of Irish payroll legislation, VAT procedures, and corporate financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.

Qualifications

  • Professional accreditation such as AAT or an equivalent certification.
  • Experience with auto-enrolment pension schemes and Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
