Role Overview

The Senior Barista role involves managing daily coffee bar activities at Umorecafe onsite in Dubai. Key duties encompass preparation and service of espresso-based and brewed drinks, ensuring consistent product excellence. The role includes mentoring junior baristas, maintaining the bar’s cleanliness and order, managing inventory of coffee, dairy, and other essentials, and supporting the opening and closing duties of the café.

Customer engagement is vital; the Senior Barista takes orders, handles payments, and addresses guest feedback professionally. Additional responsibilities include contributing ideas for menu development, suggesting new beverage creations, and assisting in training efforts related to coffee standards and customer service techniques.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven barista experience with expertise in espresso pulling, milk frothing, latte art, and drink preparation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of coffee beans, brewing techniques, café equipment use, and basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service aptitude including clear communication, active listening, and fostering an inclusive, respectful guest environment.
• Experience supervising shifts, supporting teammates, and ensuring smooth café operations.
• Strict adherence to hygiene, food safety regulations, and maintenance of cleanliness in all working areas.
• Capacity to work onsite in Dubai, stand for prolonged periods, and manage busy service intervals.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of multitasking and following procedures under pressure.
• Preferred experience in specialty coffee shops or high-traffic cafés; certifications in barista or hospitality training are advantageous.
• Fluent in English, with additional languages commonly spoken in Dubai considered a plus.
