Job Description

Guest Experience

  • Deliver warm, professional, and engaging customer service consistently.
  • Develop strong connections with guests to create unforgettable experiences.
  • Handle guest feedback promptly and execute service recovery when necessary.
  • Promote guest engagement by introducing creative beverage offerings and special promotions.
  • Maintain a strong presence during service periods to assist and lead the team.

Operational Management

  • Supervise daily bar operations to ensure smooth and efficient services.
  • Complete all opening, operating, and closing procedures according to standards.
  • Monitor and uphold service quality, presentation, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
  • Develop and maintain beverage menus including signature cocktails and seasonal drinks.
  • Coordinate efforts with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless operation.
  • Ensure all bar equipment is properly maintained and safe to use.

Financial Performance

  • Manage beverage costs, inventory levels, and stock control operations.
  • Conduct frequent stocktakes and investigate any discrepancies thoroughly.
  • Track sales metrics to identify and pursue revenue opportunities.
  • Analyze business results and implement strategies to boost profitability.
  • Ensure accurate billing, proper cash handling, and detailed financial reporting.

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain expertise in cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, and current beverage trends.
  • Introduce innovative beverage concepts aligned with the Radisson RED brand identity.
  • Train team members on product knowledge, effective upselling methods, and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source quality products and support promotional initiatives.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all alcohol licensing laws regarding responsible service.
  • Maintain exemplary hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Comply with hotel policies, brand standards, and operating procedures consistently.
  • Manage food safety and health & safety within the bar environment.
  • Ensure all staff uphold professional grooming and presentation guidelines.

Team Collaboration

  • Partner with Food & Beverage leadership to meet departmental goals.
  • Work jointly with Events, Kitchen, Front Office, and Sales teams to deliver successful functions and promotions.
  • Participate actively in management meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement projects across Food & Beverage operations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Preferably holds a Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
  • Has 3 to 5 years of experience in bar operations within premium hotels, restaurants, or hospitality settings.
  • Possesses at least 2 years in a bar management role.
  • Experience with beverage menu creation, inventory management, and financial reporting linked to beverage revenue.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercial awareness with proficient financial and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional focus on delivering outstanding guest service.
  • Advanced expertise in wines, spirits, cocktail crafting, and mixology.
  • Well-developed organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to perform proficiently under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management software.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

Other Requirements & Certifications

  • Must currently hold Responsible Service of Alcohol certification or equivalent in New Zealand.
  • Possesses LCQ and DM certifications recognized in New Zealand.
  • First Aid certification would be beneficial.
  • Flexible availability to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
  • Multilingual abilities are an advantage.
