Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer specializing in TypeScript, NestJS, and Node.js to join our Fulfilment team either based in London or working remotely within the UK. In this role, you will be crucial in designing and launching innovative savings and reward programs. You will create smooth user experiences, enabling users to confidently engage with our platform by building secure authentication systems, scalable self-service tools, and proactive fraud prevention measures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and maintain backend web applications and components using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS, following coding standards and best practices.
• Work collaboratively with frontend developers, designers, and cross-functional teams including product and engineering managers to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify and resolve bugs in existing codebases, enhancing application performance and scalability for improved user experiences.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services effectively, keeping abreast of current trends in web development.
• Maintain detailed documentation of code and processes while enforcing security best practices to protect application integrity and confidentiality.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical discussions regarding system architecture and technology choices.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of six years of professional experience as a software developer.
• Proficiency with AWS services such as DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, relational and NoSQL databases, EventBridge, and messaging/queuing technologies like SQS and SNS. Familiarity with other cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure) is also valuable.
• Solid understanding of established design and architectural patterns, with capability in backend, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking approach, with excellent problem-solving capabilities and goal-oriented mindset.
• Commitment to writing clean, well-tested code including unit and integration tests, along with clear and maintainable documentation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with DevOps best practices.
• Experience using frameworks and tools such as GitLab, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Optional experience with GraphQL, federation, and Supergraph concepts is a plus.
• Effective communication skills in English.
