Role Overview
Flo Energy's Digital Enablement Technology Team seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to develop comprehensive solutions for a dedicated product vertical. This role offers collaboration with fellow engineers and focuses on advancing Flo as a leading renewable electricity provider in Singapore and Australia, aligning with a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead backend engineering efforts to create scalable, sophisticated, and intelligent platforms that span from conception through deployment, while enhancing development workflows, infrastructure, and product lifecycle.
- Oversee the full software and product delivery lifecycle, promoting high standards in system design, clean coding, thorough documentation, and efficient infrastructure management.
- Develop robust backend systems and APIs supporting multi-national operations in Singapore and Australia.
- Translate business and product goals into user-centered platform features that meet market demands.
- Innovate and optimize operational processes to boost productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams and internal/external stakeholders to drive engineering projects forward.
- Champion innovation by introducing new ideas and technologies within the team.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 6 to 8 years of significant software engineering experience in a tech company, including leading complex, large-scale agile projects; familiarity with Kotlin, PostgreSQL, TimeScaleDB, AWS, TypeScript is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Demonstrates a keen interest in leveraging technology to improve living environments with proactive suggestions for new products and features.
- Exhibits strong organizational abilities, leadership, ownership, and communication skills.
- Believes in Agile methodologies and collaborative team empowerment to achieve optimal software delivery.
- Has a solid grasp of security best practices and can effectively implement protective measures for data and systems.
- Approaches teamwork proactively and cooperatively across diverse technical and non-technical groups.
- Keeps abreast of current trends in technology and renewable energy sectors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building products from the ground up (0-1 stage).
- Knowledge of functional and object-oriented programming paradigms, JVM ecosystem, and TypeScript.
- Background in electricity retail or closely related industries.
- Willingness to actively engage in ongoing projects requiring immediate hands-on support.
