Role Description

As an experienced Backend Software Engineer at the SDE III level, you will contribute to high-scale systems development and engage with cross-functional teams to architect and enhance backend services aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with team leads and product managers to ensure alignment and quality deliverables.
• Participate actively in design and code reviews to uphold technical standards.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering their decision-making capabilities.
• Engage in architectural discussions, influencing design to meet business growth and scalability requirements.
• Drive re-architecting efforts on subsystems as necessary to support scalability and performance.
• Own complex system areas and lead improvements in consultation with stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience developing backend systems using Core Java and frameworks like Spring.
• Proficient understanding of distributed systems and ability to evaluate different architectural trade-offs.
• Strong command of messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
• Advanced problem-solving skills with solid grasp of data structures.
• Expertise in concurrency within Java, including knowledge of optimistic and pessimistic locking strategies and their trade-offs.
• Experience with JDBC and relational databases, understanding their intricacies.
• Hands-on skills in Java performance tuning, garbage collection, and use of profiling tools.
• Deep knowledge of design patterns and appropriately applying them contextually.
• Firm advocate for Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail and ownership mindset.
• Excellent collaboration skills with ability to lead technical discussions and foster teamwork.
