Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Auditor to join our Audit, Assurance and Reporting Advisory business in Dunedin. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of practical audit and assurance experience in a Chartered Accounting environment and preferably hold a professional qualification such as CA or its equivalent. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse industries with leading clients in New Zealand, gain exposure to a broad client base, and contribute nationally significant projects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear presentations of audit findings while offering strategic recommendations and implementing advice.
  • Review and improve written deliverables including reports, memoranda, and audit documentation.
  • Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems and propose solutions aligned with client business strategies.
  • Understand and address complex audit, risk advisory issues, and stakeholder requirements effectively.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders through excellent communication and influence.
  • Provide exceptional client service and promote collaboration within the firm and across borders.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

  • At least three years of audit experience in a corporate Chartered Accounting setting.
  • Proficient knowledge of IFRS and relevant International or New Zealand accounting standards.
  • Strong analytical abilities paired with competent Excel skills.
  • Effective project management capabilities.
  • Capacity to perform independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Advanced research and problem-solving aptitude.
