Senior Associate – Workplace and Employment

About the Role

Join a rapidly expanding safety and incident management legal practice as a Senior Associate within the Workplace Relations and Employment team based in Brisbane. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Partners, gaining autonomy and the opportunity to lead your own client practice while building your reputation as a specialist in safety law.

Your primary responsibilities will include advising and representing employers on various safety-related issues, including regulatory compliance, incident management, and prosecution defense. You will serve as a trusted advisor for workplace incidents and actively maintain strong client relationships by delivering practical and commercially sound legal advice.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of four years' post-admission legal experience or comparable industry expertise.
• Proven background advising employers on regulatory or incident-related matters, including prosecutorial representation.
• Experience or specialisation in mine safety is highly valued, although the role covers a broad range of safety issues.
• Advanced drafting skills, ideally developed through corporate legal practice or similar roles.
• Extensive exposure to employment law, particularly representing employers in disputes and industrial matters.
• Strong litigation experience across relevant judicial bodies.
• Excellent client relationship management skills with the ability to establish trust and rapport.
• Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with confident communication style.
• Passion for safety law and eagerness to grow expertise in this area.
