Role Overview
The Senior Associate in Settlements is responsible for accurately handling cardholder disputes and chargebacks within the deadlines stipulated by card schemes, aligning with internal policies and card scheme regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate and process cardholder disputes and chargeback claims adhering to card scheme regulations and timelines.
- Examine transaction data and relevant support documents to assess and apply the appropriate dispute resolution steps.
- Manage and track dispute cases through various chargeback phases until completion.
- Review responses received for disputes and take necessary actions promptly within required timelines.
- Execute financial adjustments related to disputes and ensure meticulous maintenance of case documentation.
- Escalate complex or unusual cases to the relevant authority for additional review.
Collaboration
Internal: Interaction with branches, cards business team, operational risk, call center, vault unit, RTB cards team, ATM support, IT, corporate banking, marketing for cards, and HR departments.
External: Coordination with Visa, MasterCard, Diners, co-branded card partners/joint ventures, Qatar Central Bank, among others.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related role.
- Sound knowledge of VISA, MasterCard, Diners card operations, and chargeback procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

- Capability to effectively engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Arabic language proficiency is desirable.
