Department Overview
The Internal Firm Services (IFS) department includes specialists in Finance, Human Capital, Marketing, Risk & Quality, Technology, and other areas, ensuring the firm is equipped with the necessary resources and technologies.
The Emerging Technology Lab within PwC Middle East serves as an innovation hub exploring cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI, immersive experiences, robotics, space technology, and quantum computing. It offers clients and partners the opportunity to experience futuristic technologies firsthand through demonstrations and collaborative workshops.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-driven robotic systems and intelligent automation solutions.
- Create rapid prototypes integrating robotics, AI, computer vision, embedded systems, and edge computing.
- Clarify ambiguous challenges into precise technical architectures and execution plans.
- Conduct research and assess new robotics technologies, platforms, sensors, actuators, and AI models.
- Develop software components for robotic perception, control, navigation, and human-machine interfaces.
- Integrate state-of-the-art computer vision and multimodal AI models using current frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, designers, researchers, and business teams to devise innovative solutions.
- Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and optimization of robotics and AI systems.
- Lead technical discussions and provide mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
- Document system designs, engineering choices, and implementation workflows.
- Support client workshops, lab demonstrations, innovation showcases, and manage lab tours and external events.
- Contribute thought leadership insights, identify novel opportunities to apply AI and robotics for client value creation.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or closely related fields.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in Robotics, AI Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in Python programming for AI, robotics, and automation tasks.
- Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS and ROS2.
- Hands-on experience integrating hardware like sensors, cameras, LiDAR, actuators, servos, motor controllers, and embedded platforms.
- Solid understanding of robotic kinematics, motion planning, control systems, and autonomous navigation techniques.
- Working knowledge of embedded platforms like ESP32, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Arduino, or equivalents.
- Familiar with AI/ML frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and large language model APIs such as GPT, Claude, Gemini.
- Skilled in computer vision using OpenCV and modern visual models.
- Experience deploying edge AI and leveraging hardware acceleration is an advantage.
- Comfortable in Linux-based development environments.
- Knowledge of CAD, digital fabrication, rapid prototyping, and 3D printing is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Git version control systems.
- Understanding of Docker containers, DevOps principles, and cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Experience with robotics simulation tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim or Webots is advantageous.
