Senior Architectural Design Engineer

Job Summary

Fahad Al-Reshoodi Engineering Consulting Company is looking for a Senior Architectural Design Engineer to join their Riyadh office. The role demands over eight years of professional practice in architectural design and engineering consultancy, specifically with extensive experience in projects within Saudi Arabia. Mastery of the Saudi Building Code (SBC), local authority regulations, and processes for obtaining regional approvals is critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and refinement of architectural designs, from conceptual sketches through detailed drawings and technical documents.
• Oversee the development and assessment of architectural designs progressing from initial concepts to complete construction documentation.
• Ensure architectural submissions conform to the Saudi Building Code, regulatory standards, and project criteria.
• Collaborate effectively with structural, MEP, interior design, and other engineering disciplines to produce an integrated, technically sound design.
• Offer ongoing technical support and guidance to project teams throughout all phases.
• Review shop drawings, material specifications, and technical documentation as necessary.
• Perform quality assurance on architectural outputs to uphold accuracy and consistency aligned with project requirements.
• Compile design reports, presentations, and project documentation, and correspond with stakeholders as needed.
• Engage in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors for design coordination.
• Assist in resolving design and technical challenges encountered during design and construction stages.
• Work closely with Saudi authorities, facilitating documentation and submissions for regulatory approvals.
• Mentor junior architects and design engineers, providing technical leadership.
• Keep current with updates to the Saudi Building Code, municipal guidelines, Civil Defense regulations, and related standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field is required.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in architectural design and consultancy.
• Experience with Saudi Arabian projects is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge and practical use of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) is essential.
• Background with engineering consulting firms in Saudi Arabia or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in architectural and detailed design, creation of construction documents, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Proficient in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Thorough understanding of architectural details, construction techniques, materials, and building system integrations.
• Familiarity with Saudi regulatory frameworks, including Civil Defense and municipality approval processes.
• Strong leadership capabilities paired with effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project timelines and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic consulting environment.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
