Job description

About Qorvo

Qorvo is a leading semiconductor supplier providing innovative solutions that contribute to a better world. Combining expertise in product technology, systems-level knowledge, and global manufacturing capabilities, Qorvo addresses complex technical challenges for multiple fast-growing markets such as consumer electronics, IoT, automotive, electric vehicles, battery-operated appliances, network infrastructure, healthcare, and aerospace/defense.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced EDA Applications Engineer to lead the definition, implementation, and support of silicon design methodologies across RF, analog, mixed-signal (AMS), and digital integrated circuit development. This position acts as the technical liaison bridging product design groups, technology teams, internal EDA departments, and external EDA vendors to drive efficient and scalable silicon product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily hands-on applications support to RFIC, analog, mixed-signal, and digital design teams utilizing standard EDA tools.
  • Create, maintain, and deploy silicon design methodologies for RF, analog, AMS, and digital workflows.
  • Assist designers with circuit simulation, mixed-signal verification, digital verification, modeling, debugging, and interpreting results.
  • Assess, benchmark, qualify, and implement EDA tools for custom design, AMS simulation, digital verification, and RF simulation.
  • Collaborate with technology, design, CAD, and product engineers to enhance silicon first-pass success and design efficiency.
  • Work closely with EDA vendors to solve technical challenges, influence product development, and enable new tool capabilities.
  • Develop reference design flows, process design kit (PDK) enablement, reusable automation scripts, and design best practices.
  • Deliver training sessions, documentation, and mentorship to enhance team-wide proficiency in RF, analog, mixed-signal, and digital methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supporting or designing RFIC, analog, mixed-signal, or digital integrated circuits.
  • Practical experience with CMOS, SOI, SiGe, or equivalent silicon process technologies.
  • Competence with custom analog/RF design, AMS verification, and/or digital design and verification workflows.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Xcelium, Synopsys HSPICE/PrimeSim, VCS, Keysight ADS, AWR, or similar software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Expertise defining enterprise-wide EDA design flows and methodology implementation.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic (EM), packaging, thermal, and multi-physics simulation.
  • Experience working alongside EDA vendors on tool evaluation, qualification, and roadmap strategy.
