Senior Appian Developer

About the Role

We are looking to hire a Senior Appian Developer responsible for creating robust, secure, and user-friendly enterprise electronic services. The developer will transform business needs into functional Appian applications and collaborate closely with various teams including product owners, designers, integration experts, and stakeholders through all stages from design to production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design Appian components including interfaces, record types, process models, business rules, and sites.
• Construct workflows facilitating approvals, case management, notifications, and document processing.
• Create data models and establish integrations between Appian and external databases, APIs, identity management systems, and other external platforms.
• Ensure role-based access control, implement data security measures, audit capabilities, and manage sensitive data properly.
• Develop responsive and accessible application experiences for diverse user roles on Appian’s native web and mobile platforms.
• Conduct code and design reviews, lead mentoring sessions for junior developers, and encourage reusable components and adherence to development standards.
• Identify and resolve performance issues to enhance scalability and maintainability.
• Author and upkeep unit and integration tests, and contribute to deployment, release validation, and production troubleshooting activities.
• Partner with business units to clarify requirements, estimate delivery timelines, and showcase completed features.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proven practical experience building production-ready Appian applications.
• Expertise with Appian's SAIL interfaces, record types, process modeling, expression rules, security frameworks, and integration mechanisms.
• Strong background in relational database design and SQL query writing.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, including managing authentication, data transformation, and error resolution.
• Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycles, testing procedures, deployment approaches, and version control.
• Competence in guiding technical discussions, evaluating peers' contributions, and communicating design rationales effectively to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Certification as an Appian Senior Developer or Lead Developer.
• Experience working on public sector projects or high-volume customer-centric electronic services.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services, Microsoft Entra ID, document management systems, or payment gateway integrations.
• Skill in creating multilingual user interfaces, particularly with Arabic and right-to-left layout support.
• Knowledge of Appian AI functionalities and governance in business process applications.
