As a Senior Engineer within the mobile applications team, you will bring deep expertise in Android development, owning complex features that shape the experience of millions managing their home networks daily. Operating with notable autonomy, you will lead initiatives spanning mobile, embedded, and cloud systems, influence architectural decisions, and elevate engineering standards. Integral to your work will be leveraging AI-assisted development tools across coding, testing, and reviews.

Key Duties

• Create and enhance features in Android apps, emphasizing scalability, speed, and user-friendly interfaces.
• Take full ownership of projects, collaborating with cloud and embedded teams to ensure seamless product integration.
• Develop and maintain thorough test coverage, including unit, integration, and UI tests, supplementing manual QA efforts.
• Employ sound engineering judgment to resolve complex challenges, suggesting improved approaches.
• Participate in architectural discussions to guide the technical vision of the app.
• Advocate best development practices, including diligent code reviews and implementation of modern CI/CD and DevOps pipelines like GitHub Actions.
• Mentor team members, providing technical leadership and fostering continuous learning.
• Continuously explore innovative tools and methodologies, including AI-enhanced software development workflows.

Qualifications

• Over 7 years’ experience in Android development utilizing Kotlin and Java, including leadership roles in multifaceted projects.
• In-depth understanding of Android OS architecture, platform services, and system integrations.
• Proven design and architectural capabilities for building scalable, reusable, and testable applications.
• Expertise in Material Design principles, creating modern and responsive user interfaces.
• Experience collaborating across mobile, embedded, and cloud environments to produce integrated experiences.
• Competence in developing API and microservice clients.
• Proficiency with AI-augmented development processes throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and pipelines such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Fastlane, ensuring secure software delivery.
• Capability to conduct manual quality assurance activities alongside development work.
• Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, able to clearly convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical expertise.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, Python, and cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter, including building Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers.
• Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) systems and integrations involving Bluetooth, WiFi, or networking hardware.
• Familiarity with subscription and in-app billing product models.
• Cross-platform development experience on both Android and iOS is advantageous.
