Senior Advisor, Global Commodity Management

Overview

The Senior Advisor role in Commodity Cost Management at Dell Technologies involves leading dynamic procurement activities, focusing on creating and executing sourcing strategies that align with Dell’s overall business and global operations objectives. This position is based in Singapore and offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to strategic supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and strengthen relationships with suppliers by identifying performance or compliance gaps relative to Dell’s requirements and working collaboratively to resolve these deficiencies.
• Partner with Product Groups, Supply Chain Managers, and Front-End teams to define sourcing objectives, prepare and analyze Request for Quote (RFQ) packages, conduct negotiations, and provide informed business award recommendations.
• Lead cost management efforts by setting ambitious but achievable cost reduction targets, identifying gaps, devising corrective measures, issuing timely risk/opportunity updates, and collaborating closely with Financial Controllers and peers.
• Enhance and deploy sourcing and cost management toolkits by evaluating the effectiveness of current tools and integrating improvements to support procurement activities.
• Identify inefficiencies or gaps in sourcing or cost management procedures, propose actionable enhancements, obtain stakeholder alignment, and implement best-in-class process improvements.
• Collaborate across international teams and stakeholders operating across various time zones, including the US and Asia, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Over six years of progressive experience in procurement, including at least four years specializing in cost management and sourcing.
• Proven ability to cultivate strong supplier and internal partnerships.
• Expertise in cost modeling for one or more areas such as mechanical stamping of stainless-steel components, injection molding for plastic parts, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), manufacturing processes, and others, including market trend analysis of input factors.
• Demonstrated skill with various cost management techniques applicable to sourcing and cost control functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
• More than two years of experience in sourcing and cost management within Networking, Computing, or Consumer Electronics sectors.
• Familiarity with Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) or Contract Manufacturer (CM) operations.
