Job description

About the Role

Are you experienced in financial accounting and eager to contribute not only in daily operations but also in the advancement of a modern finance function? Do you enjoy hands-on work, confidently prepare financial statements according to German Commercial Code (HGB), and take pleasure in enhancing processes and systems? If you seek a senior role with substantial responsibility and creative freedom without classic managerial duties, this opportunity is tailored for you.

The employer is one of Germany's largest independent asset managers with over 75 billion euros in assets under management, ranking among Europe's leading firms. The company's mission is to sustainably preserve clients' wealth while achieving attractive returns. Besides expertise, the employer values passionate employees who dedicate themselves to client satisfaction. The firm is known for clear investment guidelines and strictly implemented investment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial accounting independently, including HGB-compliant financial statements and operational postings.
  • Contribute actively to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
  • Participate in the rollout of a new financial software tool.
  • Optimize accounting processes and organizational structures.
  • Collaborate closely with controlling, tax consulting, and other departments.
  • Support the development of internal accounting functions.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in financial accounting at least at an associate level, preferably senior level.
  • Strong proficiency in preparing financial statements according to HGB and operational bookkeeping skills.
  • A completed commercial vocational education with further training in accounting or a relevant degree.
  • Experience leading change initiatives and improving systems and processes.
  • A proactive mindset with initiative and desire to shape improvements.
  • Structured, autonomous, and solution-driven work style.
  • Fluent German language skills combined with good English proficiency.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to 120,000 euros annually depending on experience.
  • Option of up to two days working from home per week.
  • Successful owner-managed organization with short decision-making paths.
  • High degree of autonomy and opportunities to implement ideas.
  • Supportive team environment with six direct colleagues.
  • Tailored training options and structured onboarding.
  • Attractive fringe benefits including company pension scheme, public transport ticket for Germany, and health and sports programs.
