Role Overview

This full-time position located in Doha, Qatar, seeks a Senior Accountant responsible for managing daily accounting functions including maintaining the general ledger, making journal entries, and performing account reconciliations. The incumbent ensures adherence to company policies and local laws. Core duties include preparing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, facilitating budgeting and forecasting tasks, and overseeing cash flow alongside cost management strategies.

The role also encompasses reviewing and confirming invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, aiding in both external and internal audits, and ensuring the punctual submission of tax and regulatory documents. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will collaborate with various departments, generate financial analyses and management reports, and contribute to enhancing accounting procedures and internal control systems.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting frameworks, and regional legal requirements.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, performing variance analyses, and managing liquidity.
• Proficiency with accounting software, ERP platforms, and advanced capabilities in spreadsheet manipulation and financial modeling.
• Skilled in managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting reconciliations, and executing month-end closing processes.
• Track record of supporting audit activities, ensuring tax compliance, and upholding internal controls.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, organizational capacity, with meticulous attention to accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective teamwork across departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields; professional credentials like CPA, ACCA, or CMA are advantageous.
• Proven experience in a comparable senior accounting role, ideally within the trading, services, or related sectors.
• Capability and willingness to work on-site in Doha in a dynamic, diverse work environment.
