Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage comprehensive accounting activities within a manufacturing setting. The candidate will handle accounting operations leveraging Tally ERP/Tally Prime software while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete accounting lifecycle using Tally ERP or Tally Prime.
- Manage GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances including timely filing of returns.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and supervise daily banking transactions.
- Handle accounting entries such as Sales, Purchase, Journal, Receipt, and Payment.
- Prepare and authenticate Credit and Debit Notes accurately.
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes efficiently.
- Generate detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Finalize accounts and support the preparation of Balance Sheets.
- Liaise with auditors for Internal, Statutory, and Tax Audits.
- Ensure conformity with accounting principles and legal standards.
- Compile MIS reports, cash flow statements, and conduct financial analyses for management review.
- Verify transactions including invoices, vouchers, and other accounting documents.
- Supervise junior accounting staff to maintain precise financial records.
- Coordinate with banks, vendors, clients, and internal teams to facilitate smooth financial operations.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Seven to ten years of accounting experience specifically within a manufacturing company is essential.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP and Tally Prime software.
- Strong expertise in GST, TDS, and statutory compliance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with bank reconciliation, and handling Sales, Purchase, Journal, and Ledger accounting.
- Knowledge of managing Credit Notes, Debit Notes, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
- Demonstrated experience in finalizing accounts, preparing Balance Sheets, and Profit & Loss statements.
- Experience in preparing MIS reports and month-end or year-end financial closings.
- Understanding of inventory management and manufacturing accounting principles.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.
- Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with auditors, banking institutions, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Leadership experience and capability to supervise accounting teams is a valuable asset.
