Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will join our Accounting & Tax team based in Tirana. This role is designed for a seasoned accounting specialist capable of independently managing client portfolios, ensuring high-standard compliance submissions, and guiding junior colleagues in a professional service setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting and tax compliance tasks for a diverse set of local and international clients.
• Prepare and scrutinize bookkeeping records, VAT registers, payroll data, withholding tax files, account reconciliations, and monthly closure documents.
• Compile financial reports, tax filings, management statements, and associated working documentation according to internal protocols.
• Track client deadlines diligently to guarantee timely fulfillment of accounting, payroll, and tax obligations.
• Address standard accounting and tax inquiries, escalating complex technical issues to senior management as necessary.
• Foster robust client relationships and deliver clear, practical support regarding daily accounting and compliance queries.
• Mentor and review outputs from junior accountants and trainees to uphold accuracy, consistency, and proper recordkeeping.
• Maintain well-organized digital archives and adhere strictly to confidentiality, quality, and professional standards.

Candidate Requirements

• University-level education in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an equivalent discipline.
• A minimum of three years' pertinent experience in accounting, tax compliance, or financial reporting; background in professional services is advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of Albanian accounting, tax, and payroll legislation.
• Proficient in preparing financial statements and conducting monthly closing procedures.
• Fluent English language capabilities.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software like Financa5; experience with digital accounting platforms is desirable.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to handle multiple deadlines efficiently.
• Strong communication aptitude and team-oriented work style.
