Job Overview
The Senior Accountant will oversee daily bookkeeping activities including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments. They will handle accounting tasks related specifically to export and import transactions, ensuring all financial documentation is accurately prepared and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain everyday accounting records covering all transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Manage entries associated with export and import operations.
- Prepare and maintain invoices, debit and credit notes, along with necessary supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations including filing GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and conducting necessary reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations, vendor account reconciliations, and monitor customer outstanding balances.
- Keep accurate records of foreign currency dealings and apply exchange rate adjustments where needed.
- Collaborate with banks, customs house agents, vendors, clients, and internal teams to facilitate smooth financial and trade operations.
- Verify and manage import and export documentation such as invoices, shipping bills, bills of entry, and related paperwork.
- Support compliance requirements involving Import Export Code (IEC), Letter of Undertaking (LUT), export GST refunds, and other trade-related statutory obligations.
- Track receivables, payables, expenditure, and manage overall cash flow efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and support annual audits.
- Maintain correct and compliant records in accordance with accounting and tax laws and standards applicable to the business.
