About the Role
A thriving independent accountancy firm based in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its continued growth. This well-established and profitable business boasts a loyal client base and long-tenured employees, reflecting its strong retention culture. The role offers an excellent pathway to broaden technical expertise and move into client management within a portfolio of privately owned companies.
Key Duties
- Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements.
- Taking responsibility for projects from initiation through to completion.
- Assisting with corporation tax returns and broader compliance tasks.
- Overseeing and reviewing work conducted by junior staff.
- Direct engagement with business owners and their finance teams.
- Participating in client meetings and cultivating client relationships.
- Proactively addressing potential issues ahead of escalation.
- Supporting management with more complex client portfolios.
Candidate Profile
The firm values personal engagement and maintains a client interaction model focused on face-to-face meetings rather than remote correspondence. Candidates should have recent UK accountancy practice experience, strong capabilities in accounts preparation, and ideally have had some experience in reviewing or supervising others. ACA or ACCA qualifications are preferred, though equivalent qualified-by-experience applications will be considered.
